Incessant rain floods many places

Imphal, March 30 2017:
With incessant rainfall lashing many parts of the State since last night, many places of Imphal valley have been flooded.
It is likely that the rainfall may continue till April 6 .
Even though water levels of major rivers like Imphal river, Iril river, Thoubal river and Nambul have not yet reached danger level, many roads and lanes have been flooded in different areas of Imphal.
For the current year (January to March), the moderate rainfall which lashed the State on March 29 was the heaviest.
The moderate rainfall has flooded many areas of Sagolband Assembly segment and Keishamthong Assembly segment.
Takhellambam Leikai, Kwakeithel Ingel Lamhang Lambi, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel and Khagempalli areas have been flooded.
With all drainage systems not working properly, many areas of Lamphel are also on the verge of being flooded.
Some of the flooded areas of Sagolband AC and Keishamthong AC are no longer accessible by light vehicles.
Cheirap Court complex, Uripok is also getting flooded.
