Various tribal students' bodies have warned of launching intense forms of agitation from August 1 unless the Govt fails to release scholarship to ST students before July 31 .
Addressing a press meet jointly organised by the All Colleges Tribal Students' Unions, Imphal, Rongmei Students' Organisation, Manipur and Liangmei Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR or Liangmei Naga Students' Union) today at Manipur Press Club, information and publicity secretary of LNKR Diphui Prinmai said the Department concerned has overlooked to release the scholarship for ST students for the session 2016-17.Even though the Department has been approached regarding the delay in payment of scholarship many times, the officials preferred to sit over the matter so far.
As such, the tribal students today held an emergency at DMC Commerce campus.
As per the resolution, the students submitted an ultimatum addressed to the Tribal Affairs & Hills Minister, he said.
They warned of launching intense forms of agitation from August 1 if the Govt fails to release the scholarship before July 31 .
