Imphal, July 28 2017:
PFA Manipur rescued a monkey, wild duck, loris and kingfisher in separate incidents .
PFA members took over a monkey (Rhesus Macaque) from IW police after it was rescued from a woman identified as Tolivi Sumi of Chumukedima, Nagaland by Sekmai police at Awang Sekmai PS during a checking on July 26.The case and the monkey would be handed over to Wildlife department for investigation and necessary procedure, according to a statement.
In a separate incident, a Bengal Slow Loris was rescued from Sabungkhok Mamang Leikai of Imphal East.
One Tenshubam Manihar Meitei handed over the animal to PFA.
He found it wandering near his house.
Meanwhile, one Leisangthem Nara of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai handed over two ducklings of Lesser Whistling duck.
He found the two trapped in a fish net at Lamphelpat.
All the animals would be released back to wild with the approval of the Wildlife department.
Again, one Leisangthem Jayanta Kumar of Keisamthong Moirangningthou Leirak also handed over a weak kingfisher (ngarakpi) to PFA.
It was released later, the PFA statement added.
