World Population Stabilization Fortnight observed

The World Population Stabilization Fort-night was observed today at Wangoi CHC under the aegis of Imphal West District Health Society.
World Population Stabilization Fortnight must have been observed between July 11 and July 24 but it was deferred because of mass protest movements and resultant turmoil in the society.
The World Population Stabilization Fortnight is aimed at creating awareness among couples to ensure a gap of at least three years between two childbirths.
Dr Th Somendro, Dr L Kuber and Wangoi CHC MO-in-charge Kh Seityabala attended the function as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Somendro exhorted males to go for vasectomy in order to control population growth and keep their families healthy.
Dr Seityabala said that 12 males would undergo No Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) in connection with the World Population Stabilization Fortnight.
She also acknowledged the roles of ASHAs in creating awareness among couples on the benefits of NSV.
Imphal West District Health Mission Programme Manager N Thoibiton said that the World Population Stabilization Fortnight was being observed at Wangoi CHC in recognition of the commendable roles taken by the CHC towards controlling population growth.
