Free medical camp held

A free medical camp was held in the remote area of Ramva village, Ukhrul district jointly organised by 41 Assam Rifles (AR) of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) in collaboration with Community Based Initiative for Reduction of Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS Transmission (CBIRDAT), Ukhrul under Archdiocese of Imphal, Ukhrul District Health Mission Society, Leishiphung Christian Hospital and Mobile Dental Team of 13 Dental Unit Assam Rifles, Ukhrul on Sunday.
In a statement, PRO HQ IAGAR (South) said the medical team led by Senior Medical Officer of 41 Assam Rifles and Mobile Dental Unit of 13 Dental Unit Assam Rifles participated with local medical team led by Yaomila, Gynaecologist from Leishiphung Christian Hospital and outreach team of District Health Mission Society led by Apam of National Rural Health Mission, Ukhrul.
The medical camp received tremendous response from Ramva and neighbouring Shakpao and Lambui villages.
Thirty two patients including nine pregnant women received free ultrasound scanning and 50 people received dental treatment.
A talk on prevention of HIV/AIDS and menace of drug abuse to the health and society was delivered by the IEC team of CBIRDAT, Ukhrul.
Two Medical Officers of Lambui PHC, a Sonologist, an ophthalmic assistant and nursing staff provided free consultation and medicines to 305 people during the medical camp, the statement added.
