Imphal, August 24 2015:
The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has refuted the statement of S Munthuireng, about the outfit's involvement in Aimol tribe's affairs and said the allegation was totally baseless and fabricated.
In a statement, information and publicity secretary of UKLF, MP Haokip said Manglun alias Walunglua Aimol was not a cadre nor the PRO of the organization but he is an innocent Aimol tribesman who upholds the neutrality of Aimol tribe.
And there is no other PRO of the UKLF in the area other than Manggi Aimol, the elder brother of Munthuireng Aimol.
As such, the allegation made by Munthuireng Aimol is untrue and fabricated, it said.
Further, it clarified that UKLF never gets involved in the incident which took the life of Ruisoting Aimol and injuring three other women, on May 31 as alleged by the self-styled Aimol tribe president.
The said unfortunate incident was purely the handiwork of 20 AR personnel led by Maj Aditya Kapoor of E' Coy.
Therefore, implicating the UKLF in the incident by Munthuireng was totally unacceptable.
Being a SoO Signatory, UKLF sticks to the SoO ground rules in letter and spirit.
Therefore, there is no question of the outfit's involvement in any situation which is outside the purview the SoO agreement.
The organization also never indulged in harassing any community but strives for re-unification of Kuki ethnic group and maintained peaceful coexistence with all the neighbouring communities, it said.
Lastly, UKLF urged all the individuals/organizations concerned not to be misled by such fabricated allegation and cheap propaganda of Munthuireng Aimol.
The organization will not remain a mute spectator, if any individuals or organizations made such fabricated and misleading allegations with the intention to tarnish the image of the organization in future.
