Kanggui, March 13 2014 :
Kuki Students' Organisation, Sadar Hills submitted a representation to the State Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh raising various demands today.
The representation signed by the student body's president Thangminlen Kipgen urged the Government to post adequate doctors at Community Health Centre (CHC) and to reinstate all the powers entitled to Addl DC Kangpokpi as well as to rectify the term Addl DC Kangpokpi to Addl DC, Sadar Hills.
Speaking to local media persons at Kanggui this evening, Thangminlen Kipgen asserted that currently the Community Health Centre Kanggui has only two doctors which accounts for the malfunctioning of the centre resulting in causing inconveniences to the patients.
Community Health Centre at Kanggui is the only CHC in the whole of Sadar Hills where many people belonging to various communities settled and it is the top priority basic needs of the denizens, added KSO Sadar Hills president.
He said that posting of only two doctors at such rush health centre clearly signifies the indifferent attitude of the SPF led Manipur state Govt under the leadership of O Ibobi Singh.
The two doctors posted at CHC Kanggui have also been facing tremendous hardship due to their tight duty schedule.
Therefore, it will be very unfortunate on the part of the State Govt if this problem in the health section of the areas persists further more, added KSO Sadar Hills president.
Thangminlen continued that it is very sad to learn that the powers entitled to Addl DC Kanggui has been cancelled recently.
He urged the State Govt to reinstate all powers entitled earlier to the Addl DC at the earliest possibility.
The Student body also demanded the CM to rectify the term "Addl DC Kanggui" to "Addl DC Sadar Hills" for the welfare of the people.
Urging the state Govt to fulfill the immediate needs raised by the students' body at the earliest, the KSO Sadar Hills warned of launching various forms of democratic agitation against the State Govt.
