ZB seeks relief materials for calamities hit people

Pointing out that many places along National Highway 37 have been severely affected by landslides and flood, the Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) has urged the Government of Manipur to take immediate remedial measures so that the hardships faced by the people are mitigated.
Landslides are reported to have occurred at Nungba, Khoupum, Tousem, and Tamei of Tamenglong district, according to a statement issued by ZB (AMN) .
Several houses at Longmai (Noney) bazar areas have been damaged due to landslide.
The overflowing drainage damaged standing crops in the surrounding areas of Longmai.
The overflowing water of Khoupum dam has caused immense hardship to the people of Khoupum valley, it said.
Langol Tharon, Langol Tarung, Langol Grace Colony area, Langol Guigailong, Langol Laimanai and Langol Lanthungching, Zeliangrong people inhabited areas in Imphal, have been affected and many houses have been washed away.
Many people are rendered homeless and forced to flee to safe places on the nearby foothills.
It also appealed to the authority concerned to immediately provide necessary relief in cash or in kind to the affected people.
