Ibobi inaugurates three bridges, one community hall

Imphal, July 30 2014:
Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today inaugurated three bridges and one community hall today .
One RCC bridge constructed over Iril river at Chingarel under Khurai constituency was inaugurated by the CM.
Later in the day, Ibobi inaugurated the newly built Saiton bridge, Kumbi bridge and Phaougakchao Community Hall at Bishnupur.
During the Chingarel bridge inauguration function the CM stated that connectivity is the backbone of development.
He said financial position improves when connectivity develops, adding that the newly constructed bridge will help the villagers in improving their economy.
Ibobi said he was glad to know that the construction of Chingarel bridge was completed nearly two years ahead of the stipulated time.
The state Government often has to face heavy burden when target date of completion of projects are delayed.
He appealed to all local MLAs to render support in completing target-date projects which need maintenance of quality.
Constructed of the Chingarel river was started in 2002 by the PWD and its cost is Rs 6 crore.
The length and breadth of the bridge, which was built under the funding of Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) of the DoNER Ministry, is 7.50 metre and 60 metre respectively.
Works minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam, MLA Dr Ng Bijoy who also holds the post of Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board, Principal Secretary (Works) Ram Muivah and PWD Chief Engineer W Loken were also present at the occasion.
