Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated across the State

Imphal, July 30 2014:
As in other parts of the world, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety by Muslim brethrens in Manipur marking the end of the fasting month of Ramzan yesterday.
Prayers were held at all mosques and feasts were organized.
At Lilong, despite rain in the morning, people of all ages came out to perform Eid prayer at various mosques and Idigah grounds in the morning.
In these prayer sessions Imams preached on Fitra (aid of rich to the poor), a self- sufficient, and harmonious society.
The Imam of Central Idigah, Lilong Horeibi Turel Ahanbi led in performing Eid Salat(prayer), Supplication and Khutubah (Sermon) .
Minister Agriculture & Fisheries Md.Abdul Nasir also performed Eid prayer along with the people.
In keeping with the ethos, faith and beliefs of the local Muslim brethrens, 12 BIHAR of 9 Sect AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated the Eid-ul- Fitr at Bengun Louko village of Mayang Imphal yesterday.
People from Bengun Louko and adjacent villages came and participated in the Festival.
On the other hand, an Iftar was conducted by the Red Shield Division for the Muslims of Churachandpur town.
The fast was broken at Churachandpur where the Muslim brethrens exchanged greetings and wished each other on the occasion of Eid-ul- fitr.
To further the trust of people and spread a message of communal harmony, food for the visitors was also organized.
The event was hosted by the Commander at Churachandpur and was attended by leading representatives from Muslim community, according to a statement issued by PRO Defence Wing, Imphal.
