Informing that expansion and construction of drain on both sides of the Keishampat-Malom stretch of road are currently in progress, the source said that the road stretch will be constructed in 2-3 layers using synthetic materials.
Ministry of Textiles officials had discussed the matter with State Works Dept officials yesterday through video conference.
The Ministry concerned has also approved the construction of two community ponds using the new technology in Ukhrul at an estimated cost of Rs 13 lakh each.
The Govt is also considering using the new technology for construction of roads under PMGSY, the source added.
