Imphal, November 20 2013:
Reiterating its demand to the State Govt to give approval for the appointment of MSCB's own cadre officer as the bank CEO for facilitating implementation of Govt of India's package for Revival of Short Term Cooperative Credit Structure (STCCS) in the State, employees of Manipur State Cooperative Bank Ltd under the banner of MSCB Employees' Association will launch two-day cease work strike on Nov 21 and 22 .
The two-day cease work strike is in continuation of the Association's ongoing series of agitation as per strike notice served by the Association on Oct 21 to the Management of the Bank, a press statement issued by the MSCBEA general secretary, N Randhir Singh said.
The association had staged a sit-in protest on Nov 8 and Nov 14 as part of the agitation programme.
Due to non-appointment of the MSCB's professional CEO in time, the Central Govt has not released its recapitalisation assistance amounting to Rs 41.62 crore to the 208 PACS and MSCB Ltd.
Despite the fact that out of the candidates who has responded to the bank's open advertisement on three occasions, only one cadre officer of the MSCB Ltd is found eligible for the post under the RBI's fit and proper criteria, the statement said.
It further warned of launching indefinite cease work strike from Dec 4 if the State Govt fails to fulfil the demand by Dec 3 .
The Association regretted for causing inconvenience to the customers of the Bank while appealing to all concerned to bear with the association.
