Dip at JNIMS

The Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) Hospital saw a 70 per cent drop in the number of patients on the first day of JCILPS' 38 hours bandh today.
JNIMS Hospital Director Dr Deben Laishram said there was a 70 percent drop in the number of patients at the hospital owing to the bandh.
OPDs and casualties recorded only 30 percent of the average number of patients who come to the hospital in a day.
There is no immediate shortage of medicines at the hospital.
The available stock will last for three months, Dr Deben said.
He assured to provide all medical assistance to people hurt during the protest.
The Director further appealed to JCILPS and its supporters to relax the ongoing agitation for JNIMS staff.
Tourangbam Taruni who was hurt in a scuffle with the police on May 8 is undergoing treatment at JNIMS hospital.
