SANSA general conference cum sports meet begins

The 56th general conference cum sports meet 2015 of Sagolmang Area Naga Students' Association (SANSA) kicked off at Sinakeithei (Sanakeithel) at Ukhrul district today.
Hosted by Sinakeithei Katamnao Long on the theme "Unity in Diversity", the conference cum sports meet will continue till February 23.Today's inaugural function was graced by K Timothy Zimik, Principal Commissioner of Revenue Department, Government of India, Wungpam Raikhan, AE, CPWD, social worker RS Paksha, Master Teacher Trainer Mumbai and educationist Seme Newton as the presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, K Timothy Zimik said that to organise a conference cum sports annually under relevant themes is highly appreciable.
"However, the area needs improvement to a great extent in terms of transport and other developmental infrastructure.
The State Government and departments concerned should take up various steps to improve the condition of the area.
Nevertheless, to see people putting aside all the deprivations and organising such event is commendable," Timothy Zimik said.
SANSA president Solomon Phungshok said the event has been organised not only for recreational purposes but also to motivate students in their academic career through various related competitions and programmes.
A variety of competition such as essay writing, painting, debate, extempore speech, choreography, SANSA Got Talents 2015 (Season 2) and programmes like SANSA Nite, folk dances and song performances and cultural items will mark the 6 day long programme.
