Nemcha mulls separate hospital for elderly persons

The knowledge imparted by senior citizens are priceless and the kind of support and cooperation among the senior citizens are worth learning by the younger generation, stated Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen .
Addressing the International Day of Older Persons (Senior Citizens' Day) observance organized by Kuki Senior Citizens' Welfare Forum (KSCWFM) at Pu Enjakhup Hall, Khongsai Veng today, Nemcha Kipgen comforted the elders not to get discouraged with their lives as she'll try her best to live up to their expectations through the Department .
The Minister who graced the occasion as chief guest assured that through the Department, she would render all possible assistance to the old aged people in the State .
Rights of senior citizens will not be deprived in any way, she vowed .
The Minister said that as she had been in the medical profession for around two decades, she is very much aware that the senior citizens faced a lot of inconveniences when it comes to seeking medical assistance .
She mentioned that she would urge the Government to build a hospital especially for the old aged persons to ease their medical problems .
If this comes true then it will be one of the major achievements of the Government as no other Government in any other States of the country has achieved it, she asserted .
On the occasion, Warkhopao Kilong, aged 103 years and Lamkhochin Khongsai, aged 101 years who are the oldest among the surviving KSCWFM members were honoured by presenting with a traditional shawl each.
