Addressing the function, Satyabati lauded the campaign undertaken by CADA against drug/alcohol abuse and peddling in the last four years.
Saying that checking drug/alcohol abuse and/or peddling is no easy task, she underscored the need to impart proper training to the volunteers.
In this connection, the volunteers need to have adequate knowledge about law, health and other matters, Satyabati said.
Imparting proper education to drug abusers and creating awareness about the ill-effects of drug abuse among students are the basic objectives of the CADA, Joy Nongmaithem said.
It is the aim of the CADA to make every citizen healthy both physically and mentally.
Saying that only CADA cannot accomplish the momentous task of checking drug abuse in the society, he sought cooperation from all quarters, Joy said.
Lamenting that State forces view CADA volunteers as terrorists, he accused State forces of supporting/encouraging drug abusers and peddlers.
He further appealed to the State forces to shed such attitude towards CADA.
