Peeved with the State Government's prolonged delay of four years in handing over appointment letters, 344 selected candidates of SI/Jemandar recruitment examination held in 2010 have cautioned that they will launch different forms of intense agitation if the Government fails to issue appointment letters to them within seven days.
Speaking at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Association of SI/Jem Selected Candidates (2010 Batch) president Sanjeev Thounaojam said that the State Government conducted interview for the recruitment of SI/Jemadar in the year 2010 and its final result was declared on August 6, 2013 .
However, the Government is yet to issue appointment letters to these selected candidates for reasons best known to the Government alone them, he said and added that the Government must be responsible for wasting valuable time for these candidates as they had left their respective earlier jobs to join Manipur Police Department.
Although, election code of conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls is being enforced, Sanjeev said, appointment letters can be issued on compassionate grounds if there is a Court directive.
Saying that the association has not staged any anti-Government stir so far, Sanjeev cautioned that they are however ready to launch different forms of agitation if their demand is not fulfilled within seven days.
