Outer Manipur Lok Sabha MP, Thangso Baite Congratulates Mary Kom

Congratulating MC Mary Kom for winning a Bronze medal in the London Olympic 2012, Outer Manipur Lok Sabha MP, Thangso Baite said a warm reception programme would be held in her honour at the National Capital.
"Her achievement is unprecedented and a landmark for the State as well as the country," a statement issued by the PA to the Lok Sabha MP quoted the MP as stating.
Although Mary played in a higher weight category, her home coming with a Bronze medal is in fact history and a great achievement, the MP added.
The success story of MC Mary Kom could inspire the hearts of millions and keep immortal record in the history of sports in the State and inject the challenging spirit not only to the young boxers but also to all the sports loving youngsters in the days to come, Thangso Baite conveyed.
Meanwhile, extending congratulation to pugilist Mary Kom for her brialliant performance in the Olympic, the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has urged the State Government to reconsider its earlier announced reward to the boxer and come up with better reward package as deemed fit.
In a congratulatory message, Secretary of Kuki Inpi Manipur, Khaimang Chongloi said the struggle of Mary Kom from a small village to become an Olympic medallist which is not only a gift, but also a manifestation of her firm determination and grit in pursuing her dreams would surely be an inspiration to many young spirited sports persons in the days to come.
KIM further urged the State Government to revise its reward package announced for Mary Kom.
KSO Ukhrul district has also extended its congratulation to Mary Kom for fetching a Bronze medal in the Olympic, 2012.
