Imphal, March 13 2013:
Expressing surprise and shock over the statement of KNO in dragging the UKLF's name in the bomb attack incident at the residence of Sesei Zou, Chairman, ADC, Chandel, the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) said the KNO is trying its best to blacken its otherwise bright name by making such statement.
Refuting the allegation of the KNO that Lalpu Mate, a former KNLF member, who had joined the UKLF and with the support of UKLF and a valley base UG group, formed KPLF which allegedly is behind the bomb attack at the residence of Sesei Zou in Moreh and the recent bomb attack at the residence of HTC president Jangmang Haokip, a statement issued by the information and publicity secretary of UKLF, JM Thadou denied any link with Lalpu Mate or the grenade attack on Sesei Zou.
Infact, the UKLF and Sesei Zou and Jangmang Haokip had no enmity or disagreement till date, the outfit said adding that it strongly disapproved the bomb attack on the two leaders.
The UKLF also shared the pains they have suffered in the hands of some misguided people while also warning the perpetrators not to repeat such actions on social workers and public leaders in future.
The UKLF clarified that the outfit knew him as a surrenderee to the AR authority and nothing more than that and his present status and condition would be best known to the AR authority.
On KPLF, the UKLF clarified that it came to know the existence of such organization only from the press statement of the KNO yesterday and hence it might be the handiwork of some officers of KNA if at all KPLF existed.
Rejecting the allegation, the UKLF charged that the incident was an attempt to save the nefarious activities of some KNO officials.
"Moreh town is the tactical HQ of the KNO/KNA and not a single UKLF cadre is present and we have no activity there.
If there is any incidence or activity at Moreh, the KNA themselves are to be blamed since they are the only Kuki UG operating there.
There is no question of UKLF carrying out any activity in Moreh town," it asserted.
Appealing the KNO/KNA not to tarnish the good image of the UKLF in future as it could only aggravate the animosity between the two organizations while reminding that this is not the time to play blame games but to focus on the main agenda of the Kukis which is lying ahead.
