CCPur, May 11 2021:
The district in-charge of Churachandpur district, Vungzagin Valte today paid a visit to the District Hospital Churachandpur to assess the recent projects taken up in the hospital to combat the raging pandemic.
The surging cases catapulted by the reliance on limited oxygen cylinders that need refilling from outside districts was a major reason that keeps the authorities including the Chief Minister on its toes.
The Chief Minister's concern was apparent as Valte today told reporters that the Chief Minister is not happy with the dateline of May 20 given for completing the infrastructure work.
Valte said he was told that the structural works could be completed in a day or two but the putting the oxygen pipelines in place will take some more time.
However, he has claimed to have told the CMO, MS, DC and the Contractor concerned to pacify the project taking into account that the Chief Minister wants it completed before May 20 .
It is only after the ground work is completed and the readiness certificate issued, that the Oxygen machine will only be possible to be airlifted from New Delhi.
Valte also reportedly took stock of the dedicated 20 bedded CCC set-up at the District Hospital.
19 out of these 20 beds are occupied today and 18 of them are on oxygen support.
When asked what steps were taken by the government to address the shortage of Oxygen in District Hospital, the only facility that has a Covid ward in the entire district, Valte said the government with these shortages in mind is trying to hasten up setting up of the oxygen plant.
Vungzagin Valte also accompanied by Singngat MLA GS Haupu later inspected the ongoing works for Churachandpur Medical College.
