The State's Covid-19 death toll has risen to 2001 following the death of an individual from Imphal West during the last 24 hours.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the latest victim had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated.
With 17 confirmed positive for Covid-19 out of 712 samples tested during the last 24 hours, the State logged a daily positivity rate of 2.4 per cent.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 17 people were confirmed positive at RIMS (1), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (13) .
They belong to Imphal East (8), Imphal West (6), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1) and Kakching (1) .
Imphal East recorded the highest daily positivity rate of 3.9 per cent, followed by Imphal West 2.5 per cent, Kakching 2.4 per cent and Thoubal 2.2 per cent.
Following recovery, 16 people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (7), JNIMS (4) and CCCs (5).The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,723 (general population 1,21,289 and Central security personnel 4,434) .
It includes 182 active cases (general population 181 and Central security personnel 1) and 1,23,540 recovered cases (general population 1,19,112 and Central security personnel 4,428) .
The recovery rate stands at 98.26 per cent.
A total of 439 D-type oxygen cylinders and 89 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 22,95,405 (first dose 13,19,028 and second dose 9,76,377) .
This figure is inclusive of 1264 doses administered on December 25 .
Till Saturday, 56.34 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been partially vaccinated with the first dose of Covid vaccine while 41.71 per cent has received both the first and second doses.
