State records five deaths, 146 positive cases

The State witnessed the year's highest COVID-19 fatality on a single day with five persons succumbing to the virus during the last 24 hours and also the highest number of positive cases.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, five persons aged 57 (male, Imphal East), 53 (female, Thoubal), 35 (male, Churachandpur), 75 (male, Imphal East) and 53 (male, Imphal West) expired at JNIMS and RIMS.
Following the death of the five individuals, the death toll has climbed to 390 .
As many as 146 people including five CAPF personnel which is the highest for this year were tested positive for the contagion at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, Maipakpi Hospital, Raj Medicity, Jivan Hospital, Shija Hospital, Christian Hospital, Advance Hospital, CMC, Babina Diagnostics, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching, Ukhrul, Chandel and Kangpokpi.
The 141 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (70), Imphal East (42), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (5), Ukhrul (11), Kangpokpi (4) and Chandel (1) .
On the other hand, 36 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (20), JNIMS (7), RIMS (7) and Shija Hospital (2) .
The total number of active cases at present is 910 (general population 836 and Central security personnel 74) out of the cumulative positive cases of 30,567 (general population 27,043 and Central security personnel 3,524).The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,267 (general population 25,821 and Central security personnel 3,446) .
The recovery rate has further declined to 95.74 per cent.
Out of 21 air passengers tested today at Imphal airport, nine were found positive.
Of all the air passengers tested at Imphal airport so far, 96 have been found positive for COVID-19.Air passengers who came to the State on April 19 by Indigo flight 6E-2251 in rows 21-27, April 21 by Air India flight AI-3713 in rows 12-18, April 24 by Indigo flights 6E-2615 in rows 22-28, 6E-2251 in rows 13-19 and Air India flight AI-3713 in rows 1-4 and 9-22 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
As per latest information provided by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, 1,30,979 people have been vaccinated against the virus in the State.
All persons above 45 years have been advised to get vaccinated immediately at vaccination centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, Community Health Centres, PHCs and select private hospitals.
