22nd phase of RBSK-Shija Children Heart Beat held

The 22nd phase of RBSK - Shija Children Heart Beat successfully completed 5(five) Device Closures during the two day camp that was conducted from April 23 till 24 at Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) .
The camp is a joint collaboration between SHRI and State Health Society, Government of Manipur under the aegis of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK),said a statement from SHRI.
Rastriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) is a National Rural Health Mission programme which aims at early identification and intervention for children from birth to 18 years who are diagnosed with Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs),surgical treatment of Cleft lip and Cleft Palate, Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH), Congenital Cataract, Congenital Deafness, Retinopathy of Prematurity, Otitis Media, Dental Caries and Vision Impairment.
Three out of the five patients who underwent the non-operative Device Closure of holes in the heart were from Nagaland and the other two were from Manipur.
Since both the Government of Manipur and Nagaland has already empanelled SHRI, the patients were relieved from the financial expense of the procedure.
Under this initiative, a total of 126 patients have been treated from different parts of Manipur and its neighbouring state.
The procedures were performed using one of the latest Philips Cath Lab installed at SHRI.
