Death toll climbs by one, PR drops to 4.8 pc

Imphal, September 22 2021:
Whereas the State's COVID-19 death toll has climbed to 1836 following the death of an individual from Imphal West who was already vaccinated with the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine, the cumulative number of positive cases has increased by 171 .
According to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, the latest victim had co-morbidity.
On the other hand, 164 civilians and seven CAPF personnel were confirmed positive out of 3,544 samples tested during the last 24 hours which puts the positivity rate at 4.8 per cent.
On Wednesday, Bishnupur logged the highest positivity rate at 9.2 per cent.
All other districts recorded positivity rates below 7 per cent.
This is the lowest daily positivity rate recorded since April this year.
On April 19, the daily positivity rate was 5.58 percent and on April 18 it was 6.02 percent.
The positive cases were detected at RIMS (11), JNIMS (19) and other testing centres (141), and the civilians are residents of Imphal East (38), Imphal West (62), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (19), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (9), Chandel (5), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (5), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (1) and Kangpokpi (1) .
Meanwhile, 130 COVID-19 positive persons were discharged during the last 24 hours following recovery from home isolation (37), RIMS (4), JNIMS (10), CCCs (77) and CHICs (2).The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,19,041 (general population 1,14,774 and Central security personnel 4,267) .
It includes 2,214 active cases (general population 2,151 and Central security personnel 63) and 1,14,991 recovered cases (general population 1,10,792 and Central security personnel 4,199) .
The recovery rate stands at 96.60 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1071 D-type oxygen cylinders and 227 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
Taking into account 4851 people vaccinated on September 21, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 16,38,869 (1st dose 12,15,782 and 2nd dose 4,23,087) .
As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 183; ICU/HDU beds 22), JNIMS (general beds 46; ICU/HDU beds 8), CMC (general beds 28; ICU/HDU beds 6), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 25; ICU/HDU beds 5), Jivan Hospital (general beds 20; ICU/HDU beds 5), Shija Hospital (general beds 45; ICU/HDU beds 39) and Raj Medicity (general beds 75; ICU/HDU beds 24) .
