Two new cases, no new deaths reported in last 24 hours

Imphal, April 18 2022:
Two new COVID-19 cases and zero Covid related fatalities were reported during the last 24 hours.
The two cases were reported from Imphal West (1) and Thoubal (1) .
As the two cases were detected from 251 samples tested at various testing centres across the State, the daily positivity rate stood at .8 percent.
With the addition of the two new cases, the cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,198 including 1,32,184 from general population and 5,014 central security personnel while the death toll continue to stay at 2120 as no new Covid related fatalities were reported during the last 24 hours, as per a communique signed by Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director and Spokesperson, Health Department.
As 6 individuals were discharged today, the active cases stood at 53 and the recovery rate is now at 98.42 percent.
As of today there are 188 and 299 vacant beds in Covid wards opened at RIMS and JNIMS respectively and any Covid patient seeking admission can contact RIMS at 7005237591 and JNIMS at 8837342527, added the press release.
Only 22 doses of COVID-19 were administered yesterday to take the cumulative doses administered so far to 28,12,448 doses including 15,49,844 first doses, 11,92,397 second doses and 70,207 precautionary doses.
