Six succumb, death toll climbs to 213

The State witnessed six COVID-19 related deaths during the last 24 hours while the positive cases rose by 214 .
So far, 213 people have died of COVID-19 in the State.
During the last 24 hours, six persons aged 63 (male, Bishnupur), 58 (male, Bishnupur), 70 (male, Churachandpur), 50 (female, Churachandpur), 53 (male, Imphal West) and 80 (male, Imphal West) expired at RIMS, Raj Medicity, Churachandpur district hospital and Shija Hospital.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 214 people including three personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours.
The new positive cases were detected at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, CMC, Maipakpi Hospital, Little Clinic, Hillside Hospital, IRL, Escent Diagnostics, Shija Hospital, Christian Hospital, Advance Hospital, Raj Medicity, Thoubal, Kakching, Tamenglong, Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Chandel, Kangpokpi and Babina Diagnostics.
The 211 civilians who
have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (98), Imphal East (25), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (22), Ukhrul (3), Tamenglong (20), Churachandpur (5), Kangpokpi (3), Senapati (1) and Chandel (13) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant history of travelling outside the State.
On the other hand, 255 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (22), home isolation (132), RIMS (10), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (14), Lanva (3), CCC UNACCO (22), RD Wing (11), Sadbhavna (1), Ukhrul (4), Bal Bhavan (1), Bishnupur (7), Lamding (2), Kasom Khullen (11), Noney (3), Moreh (1) and Tamenglong (11) .
The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases has spiked to 21,425 (general population 18556, Central security personnel 2869) .
It includes 3068 active cases (general population 2831, Central security personnel 237) and 18144 discharged cases (general population 15516, Central security personnel 2628).The recovery rate stands at 84.68 per cent.
