Covid death toll rises by 2

The State's Covid-19 death toll has risen by two to 2118 as two individuals succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the two victims belonged to Ukhrul and Kangpokpi.
While one had taken the first dose of Covid vaccine, the other was not vaccinated.
Both of them had co-morbidities.
Meanwhile, 15 persons were confirmed Covid-19 positive out of 1,111 samples tested during the last 24 hours which took the daily positivity rate at 1.4 per cent.
The positive cases are residents of Imphal West (4), Thoubal (1), Kakching (2) and Chandel (8), according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Following recovery, nine Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (5), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (2) .
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State now stands at 1,36,991 (general population 1,31,977 and Central security personnel 5,014) .
This figure includes 97 active cases (general population 93 and Central security personnel 4) and 1,34,776 recovered cases (general population 1,29,773 and Central security personnel 5,003) .
The recovery rate as on Sunday is 98.38 per cent.
A total of 348 D-type oxygen cylinders and 140 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
Currently, 290 (out of 300) Covid beds are vacant at JNIMS and another 114 (out of 190) at RIMS.
So far, 27,50,796 Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the State (first dose 15,22,340, second dose 11,65,371 and precautionary dose 63,085) .
Till March 12, 49.78 per cent of the State's total eligible population has received both the first and second doses of Covid vaccine whereas 61.30 per cent has been given the first dose.
