Imphal, October 12 2011: The Naga People's Front (NPF) has started devising election strategies to field the most qualified candidates in 11 seats for the 10th Manipur Legislative elections with a vision to make NPF a formidable political force in the Manipur Legislative Assembly.

NPF held a consultative meeting at Senapati district Hqs under the banner "Interface with Leaders of Senapati District" .

Addressing the gathering, NPF leaders called for unstinted support to their party for strengthening the Naga integration campaign.

NPF co-ordinating committee in-charge and Nagaland Minister TR Zeliang, vice-president Zaku Tsukru, NPF legal cell advisor Timikha Koza, Nagaland Additional Chief Secretary (Retd) TN Mannan, Advisor to Nagaland Chief Minister Z Lohe and NPF Manipur State Unit president G Gaingam and other members were present in the meeting as presidium members.

Speaking at the meeting, Advisor to Nagaland Chief Minister Z Lohe said that NPF's entry in Manipur was aimed at bringing peaceful co-existence and communal harmony.

NPF is not exclusively for Nagas, all the people can join the party, he said.

Before the coming of Jesus Christ, Kangpokpi may remain as Kangpokpi and Senapati may remain as Senapati but after the coming of Jesus Christ all would become one, Z Lohe said.

Though Nagaland is NPF's homeland, the party has been working to consolidate and strengthen its position by opening branches in many States.

NPF would certainly retain power in the Nagaland State Assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2013, he declared.

Nagas have been fighting for sovereignty, and for this NSCN-IM and the Government of India Nagas have been fighting for sovereignty, and for this NSCN-IM and the Government of India have been carrying on a political dialogue.

Saying that NSCN-K has also been holding political dialogue with New Delhi, Lohe said that a 'comfortable arrangement" would be achieved at the end of these dialogues.

The 11 seats which the Nagas get in the Manipur Legislative Assembly may appear to be a small figure but this is the era of coalition Governments.

Pledging that the 11 NPF MLAs would be made a strong political force, Z Lohe expressed certain reservations if the Naga people go against emotional integration.

NPF Manipur State unit president G Gaingam stated that the time has come for Nagas' justice.

At this moment, it is crucial for the Nagas to form a common platform.

Under the prevailing situation, Naga people do not have any faith in any political party including Congress.

It is quite opportune for the NPF to spread its branches to all Naga inhabited areas, Gaingam said.
