Imphal, January 31 2023: As the state continues to remain free from Covid-19, government bulletins on Tuesday reported testing of 109 samples in the last 24 hours and no new case.

On the other hand, 138 vaccine doses were administered on Monday and it took the total number of vaccinated people to 16,49,174 out of which 13,38,750 had received the second dose and 2,80,001 taken precautionary doses.

Mention may be made that the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared Covid-19 as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on January 30 and as a global pandemic on March 11, 2020 .

The first Covid-19 case in Manipur was reported on March 24 and it also became the first case in the northeast.

So far, the state has recorded 1,39,924 positive cases out of which 2149 died.
