TPR falls, new cases in only three districts

Imphal, November 27 2021: The daily test posi-tivity rate dropped further on Saturday as government bulletins reported only two death cases and 19 new positive cases out of 1522 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The positivity rate was 1.25 per cent on Saturday, which is lower than 1.89 per cent recorded on Friday.

The two death cases were unvaccinated residents of Imphal West and Thoubal districts, which took the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 in the state to 1970 .

Meanwhile, the active caseload came down to 673 out of which only 45 (6.69 per cent) are in home isolation.

Out of the 16 districts, only three reported fresh Covid cases on Saturday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 11 .

In terms of positivity rate, Imphal East district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 2.4 per cent while Churachandpur district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.6 per cent.

So far, the state has recorded 95,717 positive cases and 1596 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.

The current month reported 1386 new positive cases and 49 death cases out of which 282 new cases and 10 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone According to official reports, all the 19 new positive cases (8 male & 11 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (16) .

The positive cases are from Imphal East (7), Imphal West (11) and Churachandpur (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the last 24 hours, 18 patients were discharged from home isolation (1), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (13) .

The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,117 (general population - 1,20,693 and CAPF personnel - 4,424) .

Number of recovered cases is 1,22,474 (general population - 1,18,119 and CAPF personnel - 4,355) and number of active cases is 673 (general population - 609 and CAPF personnel - 64).The recovery rate is 97.89 per cent.

A total of 382 D-type and 72 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 5302 vaccine doses were administered on Friday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,76,049 including 8,56,515 fully vaccinated individuals.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,816), Imphal East (27,770), Thoubal (9473), Churachandpur (10,177), Kangpokpi (2786), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9200), Senapati (2241), Ukhrul (2992), Kakching (6435), Chandel (2354), Noney (1073), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (953) and Pherzawl (464) .

Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (658), Imphal East (469), Thoubal (177), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul 43), Kakching (113), Chandel 41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,321 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,706 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 4,55,719 tests per million population against the national average of 4,56,213 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, only 1522 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.25 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.85 per cent.
