One dies, 263 newly infected as TPR dips further
Health status of third patient normal; posers raised over entry into state

Imphal, September 09 2021: Amid the state witnessing a declining trend in positivity rate, Thursday reported one death case and 263 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 3682 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 7.14 per cent against Wednesday's 8.17 per cent.

The lone death case has been reported from Thoubal district and the victim was not vaccinated against Covid-19 .

The cumulative death toll has now reached 1806.Though the positivity rate remains in single digit, Imphal East (10.2 pc), Kangpokpi (12.4 pc) and Tamenglong (10.4 pc) districts reported double digit positivity rate.

The active caseload rose to 3218, against 3164 on Wednesday, out of which 789 (24.52 per cent) are in home isolation, 1247 (38.75 per cent) in CHICs, 690 (21.44 per cent) in CCCs and 492 (15.92 per cent) in hospitals.

Among the hospitalised patients, 96 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 146 are on oxygen support and 38 on ventilator support.

However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS, Hand Hospital and LFS Covid Treatment Centre even though these facilities have 160, 25 and 11 patients respectively.

At the same time, 10 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.

As of Thursday evening, 553 beds including 103 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.

There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Wednesday evening 2777 beds were available in different CCCs, and 331 beds (22 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.

So far, the state has recorded 86,997 positive cases and 1432 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 1895 new cases and 16 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.

According to official reports, the 263 new positive cases included 253 people (123 male & 130 female) from among the general population and 10 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Their samples were tested at RIMS (12), JNIMS (21) and other testing centres (230).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (59), Imphal West (94), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (4), Ukhrul (14), Churachandpur (14), Chandel (5), Senapati (5), Tamenglong (14), Tengnoupal (2), Noney (5), Kamjong (l) and Kangpokpi (17) .

All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the last 24 hours, 208 patients were discharged from home isolation (102), RIMS (4), JNIMS (15), CCCs (62) and CHICs (25) .

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,16,397 (general population -1,12,230 and CAPF personnel - 4,167) .

Number of recovered cases is 1,11,373 (general population - 1,07,265 and CAPF personnel - 4,108) and number of active cases is 3,218 (general population - 3,164 and CAPF personnel - 54) .

The recovery rate is 95.68 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1091 D-type and 213 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

Only 5663 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday taking the cumulative tally of vaccinated individuals to 11,98,061 out of which only 3,83,553 are fully vaccinated.

As of Wednesday, 89,304 people eligible for second dose are yet to get the second shot of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, three positive cases were detected out of 48 samples tested in Kakching district on Thursday.

Two of them are residents of Kakching district and their samples were tested at government RAT site while the third one is from Imphal West district and his sample was tested at Ema Hospital, according to DSO Kakching Dr Kesho.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (39,541), Imphal East (25,785), Thoubal (9207), Churachandpur (9824), Kangpokpi (2674), Tamenglong (3207), Bishnupur (8846), Senapati (2117), Ukhrul (2461), Kakching (6266), Chandel (2205), Noney (1051), Tengnoupal (1019), Jiribarri (1012), Kamjong (758) and Pherzawl (424).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (597), Imphal East (427), Thoubal (166), Churachandpur (154), Kangpokpi (56), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (184), Senapati (8), Ukhrul (29), Kakching (110), Chandel (34), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 37,511 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,762 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 3,99,979 tests per million population against the national average of 3,84,516 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, only 3682 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 7.14 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.38 per cent.
