Maoist to boycott assembly election

Imphal, December 26 2011:
The Maoist Communist Party, Manipur today observed the 118th Birth Anniversary of Maoist Chairman Mao at its International Committee office.
In a statement, Maoist stated that it will boycott the upcoming assembly which is a tool for the India government to show that Manipur is ruled by its own people's representatives.
Maoist further stated that the upcoming election under the Indian Constitution will do nothing good for the state.
Even though good persons with a sense of patriotism also get elected to the State Legislature, the will bow to the present system instead of trying to change it.
The statement also expressed the possibilities of many election related crimes which might even lead to loss of lives and appealed to the people of the state not to participate in any election related programmes to avoid such unwanted incidents.
In order to prevent such election related crimes, Maoist has imposed ban on any types of election related festivities in the state till January 30.However the ban will not apply to the Cinema Halls and BOAT as far as they are not related with the assembly election, it stated.
