Imphal, December 26 2011:
Reacting to DGP Y Joykumar's statement that militant groups of the land are bereft of any ideology, the proscribed RPF has alleged that the group which has no ideology and which has no remorse in killing the father-son duo in the name of a revolutionary group was being protected by the DGP.
For the failure of the police to rescue the father-son duo who were abducted for more than 10 days before they were eliminated, the DGP was attempting to blame the revolutionary groups for the dastardly double murder in his efforts to cover up their abject failure, alleged the outfit in a press statement issued by its department of publicity chief Taohangsu Heiremcha.
Compared to the DGP's tall claims that Manipur Police have become a force worth emulating by neighbouring States and they have successfully suppressed many major revolutionary groups and that peace has reigned in Manipur, the RPF asked as to why the valiant and highly competent State force could not rescue the father-son duo in time.
This only showed that the land is being ruled by a group of cowards and unworthy men, the outfit alleged.
There was no guarantee that there was no hands of security forces in the double murder.
Possibly, a secret understanding might have been reached between security forces and the murderers to divide the ransom between themselves.
One KCP group being housed at 7th MR at Khabeisoi with the alleged patronage of DGP Y Joykumar and which is a party to SoO pact and its leader who is himself HIV positive called FCI contractors to AR Transit Camp of Minuthong and collected a huge amount of money.
The RPF asked, "How many officers of Manipur Police do not about this.
Even as 23 AR commander Major Rana was involved in this act of extortion, why could not the DGP take up any action against the AR officer?" .
Even the Chief Minister would have been aware of the number of police and military officers who have built palatial houses from the money earned by the groups they set up exclusively for extortion and murdering innocent people like the father-son duo of the recent case.
Noting that these rootless pseudo-revolutionary groups have sprung up in great numbers and they have been operating quite freely, the outfit asked under whose patronage these groups have been operating without any fear.
It further claimed that ideologies had taken roots in Manipur even before king John II of the United Kingdom brought out a written constitution.
Much before different ideologies took birth in Greece, France and Latin American countries, Manipur had a written ideology based on prosperity and egalitarianism for administering the kingdom.
Conceding to the DGP's assertion that there were leadership crisis and communication gaps among many revolutionary groups, Taohangsu pointed that no men was born perfect.
Nonetheless, the DGP's alleged attempt to sully the image of genuine revolutionary groups by citing the case of some week and indiscipline groups would never bear fruit, it added.
