TCMDC, KASC, SCCC & KSDO notch up wins in MNCA Men's U-23 tourney

Imphal, May 23 2024:
In the MNCA Mens U-23 Tournament on Thursday, TCMDC (Thongju II Pechu Lampak), KASC (Khomidok), SCCC (Singjamei Thongam Leikai) and KSDO (Kiyamgei) all won their league-round matches.
TCMDC notched up a convincing 83-run victory against Al-Ameen in their meeting at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground, here.
Gritty knocks from Laishram Vivekananda Singh (65) and Rain Urikhimbam (58) helped TCMDC post 208/9 .
Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma (24), Ringku Kangujam (14) and N Arbin Singh (10) also reached double figures in the innings.
For Al-Ameen, Khulakpam Hanif and Mohd Sagir Ahamed both took 2 wickets while Md Karim, FM Sakil Ahamed and Mahboob each bagged one.
After making a decent total, TCMDC bowled brilliantly to stop Al-Ameen in 33.4 overs for 125 for a dominant win.
Laishram Valindra led the scalping with 3 wickets as Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma picked up 2, with Rain Urikhimbam, N Arbin Singh and Albert Sorokhaibam contributing one apiece.
In their futile run chase, Md Sharoz Khan scored a decent 38 while Naeem NA7 had 19 for Al-Ameen.
KASC beat CRAU by 55 runs via in a curtailed match at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
KASC batted first and scored 240 after being dismissed in 38.3 overs.
Washim Akram top-scored in the innings with 83 off 53 deliveries, followed by Bm Irfan (45) and Mohd Shahir Khan (34), with both Md Sharif Khan and Afjal Khan scoring 16.Chasing 224 after the match was cut to 36 overs, CRAU faltered under pressure and fell far short of the score, being bowled out for 168 in 30.5 overs.
Lamabam Jotin Singh (37), Sanatomba K (28), Dinu Sarangthem (25) and Dennis Khangenbam (24) all had decent innings but couldn't help their side chase down the runs.
Afjal Khan emerged as the chief destroyer for KASC with 4 scalps while Fm Sharif impressed with 3 wickets.
Md Babu and Mohd Shahir Khan chipped in with 2 wickets and one respectively.
Earlier, Thongam Joychandra was the pick of CRAU's bowlers, taking 3 wickets.
Terrific spells by Rex Waikhom and Lishan Meitei Khaidem helped SCCC defeat AKSDO by 33 runs in a low-scoring match at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
Electing to bat, SCCC were all out for 120 in 24.4 overs, with Basant hitting 52, Ankit Prasad 21 and Bicky Kumar Das 10 in their innings.
In the process, 3 of SCCC's batters fell to Saikhom Kaiku Meetei, 2 each to Akash Laishram and Rosan Laishram, and one to Rohit Laishram.
Notwithstanding their poor innings, SCCC produced a superb bowling performance to emerge the victors, thanks to Rex Waikhom and Lishan Meitei Khaidem who shared 10 wickets between them.
Rex went lethal scalping 6 wickets as Lishan did his part with 4 to help SCCC bowl out AKSDO in 20.4 overs for 87 .
Laishram Samson Meetei (22) was the lone batter who crossed 20 in AKSDO's run chase.
KSDO, meanwhile, registered a 24-run victory against TRAU at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
Batting first, KSDO managed to score 117 after being bowled in 26.3 overs.
Alfat (44), Md Shah Jahan (31) and Md Arif khan Aripppa (13) were the batters who got into double figures in their innings.
KSDO then ended TRAU's chase in 30.3 overs for 92.Md Abdul Razaque snapped 3 wickets, Md Riyajuddin and Md Shah Jahan tool 2 each, and Wakip Sheikh added one in their win.
