Bodybuilding, Muay Thai medallists felicitated by UFC Gym Imphal

UFC Gym, Imphal felicitated its bodybuilders and Muay Thai fighters who won multiple medals at NPC Nationals, Sheru Classic 2024 and UMAI National Muay Thai Championship 2024 at Samadon Building (2nd floor), Kwakeithel Ningthemkol, Tiddim Road.
The bodybuilders who were felicitated included NPC National Championship overall champion, NPC Grand Prix overall champion and Sheru Classic 2024 light heavy weight second runner-up Rishikanta Chandam; NPC Master, Assam overall title winner and NPC National Master fourth position holder Jimmy Monsang; NPC National Assam first and second position holder Robert Mayanglambam; and NPC National main event, physique event and body building second position holder, Sheru Classic 2024 physique event second position holder and NPC Assam men physique event overall champion Malemnganba Takhelmayum.
Among the Muay Thai fighters honoured were bantam weight gold medallist Laishram Yaima, lightweight gold medallist Chittanjoy Thangjam, junior bantamweight gold medallist Arambam Pumhen, strawweight gold medallist Aheibam Roshni, welterweight gold medallist Norbert Chara and featherweight gold medallist Ricky Nongthombam, as well as Kiyamba Maibam who participated in the MMA fight event.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion, UFC Gym Muay Thai coach and gold medallist L Yaima stated that 48 players participated in the UMAI National Muay Thai Championship 2024 held in Assam, and 28 of them claimed gold medals, with the rest wining silver and bronze.
For UFC Gym, out of nine participants, seven won gold medals, he added.
Yaima also informed that fighters who were selected in the said championship will now compete in the Indoor Asian Games scheduled to be held in November in Thailand.
