PTCC, THAU storm into final of 2nd MNCA Women's U-19 One Day Trophy

Both PTCC and THAU enjoyed a smooth passage into the final of the 2nd MNCA Womens U19 One Day Trophy 2023-24 on Saturday.
PTCC booked their place in the final with an 8-wicket hammering of AKSDO in their semifinal encounter at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East.
PTCC restricted AKSDO to 131/6 after the latter decided to bat.
In their innings, Taniya Ningthoujam (42), Sofiya Saikhom (36) and Langlen Ningthoujam (10 not out) were key contributors for AKSDO.
For PTCC, Niruka and Konsam Sayatombi Dev picked 2 wickets apiece, with Linthoingambi Chanu Laishram taking one.
Chasing 132, PTCC took 18.4 overs to complete the chase, losing 2 wickets in the process.
Laishram Teresa shone with the bat, blasting 74 off 58 balls to help her team seal the victory.
Lourembam Prena Devi (15) and Konsam Sayatombi Dev (10 not out) also made decent contributions during their run chase where both Prena and Kiran Laishram (1) fell prey to Alish Thokchom's bowling.
Seterny Devi Brahmacharimayum hit a century as THAU outplayed FORCE by 66 runs in other semifinal at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband.
Electing to bat, THAU scored 203/7 .
Their total was built on Sterny's 100 off 89 balls, which was bolstered by Konjengbam Nonibala Devi's unbeaten on 32 .
Moirangthem Yaiphabi Devi (13) and Kurangini Kangabam (10) also reached double figures in their innings.
THAU then bowled well to end FORCE'S run chase in 29.1 overs for 137 as Barkatun Khanam's 77 and Neha's 31 went in vain.
Megnoria Devi Khundrakpam led the scalping with 4 wickets while Hijam Malemkhombi claimed 2 scalps, and Thoithoibi Ahongshangbam, Pungyambam Milky and Konjengbam Nonibala Devi each chipped in with one wicket to propel their team to the final.
Earlier, Wakila Shani was the pick of FORCE's bowlers, taking 3 wickets.
