AITA 1-Lakh Men's Open Tennis Tournament : Shanker, Bushan and Becker post men's singles first round victories

State trio of Shanker Heisnam, Bushan Haobam and Becker Huidrom entered into the pre-quarter finals of the men's singles competition of the AITA 1-Lakh Men's Open Tennis tournament being hosted by the Imphal District Tennis Association at its complex under the aegis of AITA.
Shanker reached the prequarter final with a 6-0, 6-1 first round win over Maharashtra's Atharva Amar.
He will meet Shaikh Azmeer, who got a first round bye, in the pre-quarter final round.
Bushan in the meantime pulled off a 6-2, 6-4 win over compatriot Toijam Brojendro in the first round to set up a prequarter final date with Karnataka's Nishith Naveen.
Becker also sealed a similar 6-2, 6-4 first round win over Swostik Pradhan of Odisha to set up a pre-quarter final date with Siddhant Sastry of Kamata who got a first round bye.
The day also saw K Ramchandra Reddy of Telangana notching up a double bagel against Nitesh Rungta of Maharashtra in the first round to set up a next round clash with Manipur's Ashwajit Senjam.
Telangana's Hansh also pulled off a fairly easy 6-1, 6-0 win over Abyan Zaffar of Assam to set up next round clash with Assam's Raktav before Shaunak Chatterjee of West Bengal outlasted compatriot Shagnik Bose 6-1, 6-2 to set up pre-quarter final date with Dev Sinha of Karnataka.
In the men's doubles competition, Azmeer Shaikh and Dev Sinha posted a 7-5, 6-0 win over Manipuri pair of Ashwajit and Becker to seal a semi-final berth.
The West Bengal-Telangana pair of Aritro and Hansh also reached the semi-final with a 5-7, 6-2, 15-13 win over Maharashtra-Telangana pair Atharva and Ramchandra.
The pair of Bushan and Shanker and Brojendro Toijam and Bhicky Sagolshem were in the meantime able to reach quarters.
Bushan-Shanker pair posted an easy 6-0, 6-2 win over Delhi-Assam pair of Abishek Agrawal and Abyan Zaffar while Brojendro-Bhicky pair overcame West Bengal pair of Divyesh Rampuria and Shounak Chatterjee 6-1, 6-3 .
