Army opens computer training centre at Taphou Naga

In its endeavour to impart knowledge on information technology and computer to the youth and students of Taphou Naga village area, Red Shield Division of the Indian Army opened a computer training centre at Taphou Naga on Monday.
The centre has five high-end desktop computer sets, a printer, chairs and tables for the trainees.
The facility was created as part of overall efforts by Indian army for empowerment of youth and students under 'Operation Sadbhavana' .
The inaugural ceremony was attended by SJ Tiwari, commander Senapati Brigade, School Management Committee, civil administration, students and village elders.
Marahang Ngiimei, village secretary of Taphou Naga, thanked the commander of Senapati Brigade for establishing such a training facility for the area's youth and students, and praised the Indian army's efforts to promote computer literacy, which is a key to success in today's India and the world at large.
The village secretary noted that it was the first time that such yeoman service was rendered for the welfare of the community, and that the community will benefit from such a centre in the future.
SJ Tiwari, during his inter -action with the villagers stated that such facilities would help the youth and students to understand various functions of the computer.
The commander also indicated that a skill development training centre would be opened in the district headquarters in the near future, as requested by the ex-servicemen.
