DESAM for start of D.EI.Ed admission process

Condemning the failure of authorities concerned to commence the admission process for Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed) till now, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has demanded initiation of admission process so that normal classes for D.EI.Ed could be started at the earliest possible.
In a release, DESAM publicity secretary Thoudam Shyamjai highlighted the importance of D.EI.Ed, which is a course for the teachers.
Pointing out that there are 11 District Institute for Education and Training (DIET), including one private, centres for pursuing the course, he stated that the centres are affiliated to State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
Though the private centre is following normal academic process and classes are halfway through, the admission process is yet to begin for the government centres under SCERT.
Normally, admission process gets completed and classes start in July/August, the secretary pointed out, while denouncing failure of authorities concerned to begin admission process even though November month is nearing the end.
He reiterated appeal to SCERT, commissioner and education minister to initiate admission process and begin classes for the course so as to ensure a progressive society.
