Vizay Hazare Trophy : Manipur go down against Chhattisgarh despite Prafullomani, Langlonyamba's half centuries

Manipur went down by 88 runs against Chhattisgarh at Jaipur's KL Saini Stadium in their fourth outing of the ongoing Vizay Hazare Trophy Group B despite half centuries from Prafullomani and Langlonyamba Meitankeisangbam.
It was the fourth loss for Manipur senior team in the list -A tournament having suffered defeats in the hands of Services, Vidarbha and Hyderabad.
Manipur won the toss and chose to field first today.
Chhattisgarh were reduced to 2/2 in 1.5 overs with Bishworjit trapping Shashank Chandrakar lbw for 1 and Rishabh Tiwari getting run out but Shanshank Singh struck a 113-ball 152, Amandeep Khare scored a slow 102-ball 88 and Ajay Mandal added 20-ball 43 to post an imposing total of 342 runs for 6 .
Rex returned with the best bowling figures of 2/56 in 10 overs as Bishworjit finished with 2/71 in 10 overs and Kishan Singh picked one.
In reply, Manipur started on a bright note with Prafullomani (67) and Basir Rahman (42) forging an impressive 109-run first wicket partnership in 23.1 overs before Langlonyamba and Priyojit K (29) stitched together 47 runs for the fourth wicket on the way to his 61 off 65 balls to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Rex also contributed 24 runs before Manipur ended up adding 254 runs for 9 as Shashank Singh kept Manipur's strike rate under control by enjoying a fifer (5/20).Rishabh Tiwari (2/13) also picked two wickets to add more teeth to the Chhattisgarh bowling attack.
Manipur will play Jharkhand in the next match on December 1 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Manipur will play Meghalaya in the 6th match at K L Saini Stadium, Jaipur on December 3 before culminating the campaign with Maharashtra on December 5 at Dr Soni Stadium, Jaipur.
