Anganwadi workers ransack office, burnt files

Protesting the termination of some of their members in Thanlon AC on the ground that they were out of station, the Churachandpur District Anganwadi Mahila Organisation today held a sit-in protest which later turned violent as they ransacked at least two offices and torched several files.
The protest, according to the organizer was called to demand the reinstatement of about a dozen workers terminated by the department.
Later they marched towards the office of ICDS Thanlon which was locked.
The crowd broke the lock and demolished plastic chairs and ransacked all files.
As the police arrived on the scene, the protester gradually retracted and concluded their protest by submitting a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.
