Even after a year of the heinous murder of 10-year old Sumila from Chandanpokpi river bank under Kumbi police station, Manipur Police has not been able to find the culprit.
Laishram Amuthoi, father of the dumb girl 'Sumila' told reporters today when a team of mediapersons visited the house of the deceased girl that his daughter Sumila went out to search the family's cow around 4 pm on January 22 last.
The third child among four sons and two daughters of Amuthoi, Sumila by that time was studying in class-I at Pombikhok Primary school.

Finding cue from the 'Chapal', the locals along with police hunted the girl at nearby areas.
Lastly, the dead body of Sumila was found dumped inside the mud in a culvert around 800 metres from her residence.
As expressed by the father of the deceased girl, the local people had already searched the area earlier but it was not found.
He further said there was apprehension that police retrieved the dead body immediately after cordoning the area without the presence of any forensic expert and the magistrate.
While echoing doubt over whether the police was giving protection to the culprits, the father of the deceased expressed dissatisfaction that no one has been arrested in connection with the murder even after nearly a year of the incident.
In spite of the pressure from the JAC formed in connection with the incident, nothing has been revealed so far.
Even the post mortem report has not been disclosed to the family and the JAC, he alleged.
