Appeal for relaxation of curfew

Imphal, November 28 2014 : The Christians in Manipur, under the common organization of All India Manipur Christian Organization (AMCO) had today appealed to the leaders of concerned organizations to relax the curfew on the day of the Prime Minister visit on November 30, said a release.

The organization claimed that the November 30, which is a Sunday, will be observed as the Advent Sunday which not only holds great spiritual importance but is a religious obligation for the Christian folk.

In this regard the group expressed that the relaxation of the proposed curfew will not only allow Christians to fulfill their religious and spiritual obligations, but will also help promote a peaceful and harmonious co-existence of various religious and ethnic groups of the state, said the release.
