PFA visits injured wildlife activist

Wildlife officials and People for Animals Manipur jointly met Wahengbam Tikendrajit Singh of Kumbi Thingel Mamang Leikai who is in orthopedic ward of RIMS, Imphal after he was shot at the knee by a poacher namely Nongmaithem Kali alias Bhaghirath of Kumbi Makha Leikai when he restrained the latter from hunting birds.
Recognising his brave and humane act, wildlife officials and PFA expressed heartfelt gratitude and honour to Tikendrajit, according to a statement.
Chief Wildlife Warden of the State PN Prasad consoled Tikendrajit after hearing the story of the incident from him.
CWW assured to Tikendrajit and his family that the medical expenses will be met by the department.
AK Pream, Chairperson of PFA Manipur assured Tikendrajit that PFA will not rest till he gets justice.
PFA appealed to Bishnupur police and other concerned to take the matter seriously.
Tomorrow Tikendrajit's knee will be operated to dislodge the bullet.
