Tamenglong have 126 HIV/AIDS positive patients

/, Dec 1: Everyone including churches, NGOs, social organisations, district administration and politicians should join hands together to fight against the dreadful disease of HIV/AIDs which in increasing every year and climb to 126 HIV/AIDS positive patients in Tamenglong district.
Last year Tamenglong have 117 HIV/AIDS positive cases but it has climb up to 126 after detecting 9 new cases of HIV/AIDS positive this year.
Out 126 patients, as many as 57 infected patients are taking ART at Tamenglong while another three persons are presently taking ART from outside.
Three patients have been reportedly died since last year.
Disclosing this to Hueiyen Lanpao, Dr.Chambo Gonmei, Chief Medical Officer Tamenglong on the sidelines of the World AIDs Day observance at Indoor Stadium Tamenglong.
The observance was graced by Jenghemlung Panmei, local MLA as chief guest.
Keikhumjanang ADC Member and Charles Liangdiyang ADC Member graced as guest of honours and RH.
Gonmei, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong graced as president of the function.
The observance was graced by District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee Tamenglong.
The Chief Medical Officer Tamenglong stated that with the establishment of ART centre at Tamenglong, burdens of the HIV/AIDS patient has reduced to some extend and now CD4 machine is available, this will lessen their burdens.
To create awareness among the people, it is the duty of NGOs, church leaders, district administrative and politicians, Dr Chambo Gonmei stated.
"If you have sick person at your home, your home is sick, if you have sick person at church/ society, your church/society is sick, and our nation will sick and weak too.
Come let us come together and fight against the dreadful disease", Dr Chambo Gonmei said.
In his speech as chief guest, Janghemlung Panmei during the observance of 11th World AIDS day, Janghemlung Panmei assured that he would construct TNP + office at Tamenglong very soon.
He observed that though people still live the Christianity society, people discriminate the HIV/AIDS patient.
Instead of discriminate, we need to give them common platform and speak about the disease and create awareness among the people then the district will able to free from dreadful disease", Janghemlung Panmei said.
In his presidential speech RH Gonmei, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong stated that unless people give cooperation, the target on the theme to "Getting to zero, zero new HIV/IADS infection, zero discrimination and zero HIV/AIDS related deaths", wouldn';t be success.
Church leaders, Pastors, social leaders, NGOs have a great role to reduce and free from the dreadful diseases, stated the Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong adding that learning about the disease rather discrimination will help in prevention and eradicate the dreadful diseases.
Action for Welfare and Awakening in Rural Environment, AWARE Tamenglong also observed world AIDS day at their office.
Dr Chambo Gonmei, Chief Medical Officer Tamenglong graced the programme as chief guest and Dr.Felix Kamei, MO graced as president of the function.
Two HIV + patients gave their testimony during the programme.
