State Kala Akademi Awards 2012 announced

Noted theatre personality Ratan Thiyam and renowned artist Oinam Biramangol has been selected as Fellows of Manipur State Kala Akademi for the year 2012 .
In a press release issued by Secretary of Manipur State Kala Akademi today, names of 14 Akademi Awardees, six Young Talent Awardees, three Awardees for Literature and two for Awards for Fine Arts for the year 2012 have been announced.
Dr Makhonmani Mongsaba will be presented Akademi Award for Literature (Creative Work) for his travelogue 'Chinglon Amadagi Amada', while Dr Nongmaithem Tombi will receive Akademi Award for Literature (Critical work) for his essay 'Manipuri Theatre: Khomjinba Wareng Khara'.
Dr.Ibocha Soibam bags the Akademi Award for Literature (Translation) for his work 'Khambi Meigi mashashing, a Manipuri translation of APJ Abdul Kalam's 'Wings of Fire'.
In Fine Arts, Th Ashwinikumar Singh and Golmei Gandumpu will receive the MSKA Awards for their painting works entitled Living Death (Mixed Media) and Kabui Laam (Acrylic) respectively, said the release.
MSKA awards in Dance category will be given to Shijagurumaym Noyonshakhi, Sagolshem Kriti Singh and RK Nabindra Singh, while in music, Thokchom Ibohal, Soibam Thoiba and Hijam Gouro Singh have been selected.
Other selected awardees are Pukhrambam Khogendra Singh for Theatre, Lousigam Mangichand for Shumang Leela, Ningthoujam Nipamacha Singh for Traditional Theatre (Gouraleela), Lousigam mangichand (Shumang Lila), Puthem Mangi Singh (Thang Ta), Hanjabam Tombi Sharma (Mime), and Naoroibam Binoy Singh (Moibung) .
Meanwhile, Tonna Kabuini and M Ashoohrii Basena will be given the awards in the field of Tribal Culture, stated the release.
Manipur State Kala Akademi Young Talents Awardees for the year are Manju Elangbam for Dance, Keisham Jadu Singh for Music, Sagolshem Sana Meitei for Shumang Leela, Leitanthem Dhamendro Singh for Thang-ta, Aribam Devabarta Sharma for Mime along with Khupsual Aimol for Tribal Culture.
The announcement came following a meeting of General Council of Manipur State Kala Akademi held at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on November 29 last with Dr Krishan Kant Paul, Governor of Manipur and Chairman of the Manipur State Kala Akademi as president.
