Workshop on recognised tribes begins

Imphal, September 12 2014 :
A two-day long workshop on Literary Progress of the 34 Recognized Tribes in Manipur being organized by Social Action for Tribal Areas Development Manipur (SATAF-M) commenced from today at the conference hall of Tribal Research Institute at Chingmeirong here.

The first day of the workshop held under the theme 'Promote, Preserve, Protect & Enrichment of Tribal Language Rights of Manipur' was attended by MK Preshow Shimray, Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly and Z Solomon, Joint Director of Tribal Research institute (TRI) as Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively.
Assistant Prof Dr Kh Aruna Devi, Department of English, Oriental College and Prof Ch Yashwanta Singh, Department of Linguistics of Manipur University were also present at the occasion as Resource Persons.
