Imphal, September 12 2014 :
The Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee (MPTCC) on Friday said it condemned Manipur Government for declaring indefinite holiday for all schools and colleges in an apparent move to decelerate the Inner Line Permit (ILP) movement and demanded immediate withdrawal of the order.
"The Government should quickly withdraw the order on declaration of indefinite holiday for all the educational institutions so that classes can resume," MPTCC spokesperson MI Khan demanded while addressing reporters at the party office.
He also demanded that the Government release all ILP activists immediately.
He alleged Ibobi Government wants the growing demand for implementation of ILP system lose its pace with its unfounded view that the demand aims at preventing entry of non-Manipuris into the state.
The militant-turned-politician accused the Congress Government headed by Okram Ibobi Singh of trying to divert the issue by showing concern of the Manipuri students studying in other states of the country.
MI Khan said the Government should not worry about Manipuri students staying in other states of the country and stop linking the students and issue of implementation of ILP system.
