Imphal, February 05, 2012:
The post poll strategies for Trinamool Congress and Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) still remain unclear even as different political parties of the state have come up together forming the People's Democratic Front (PDF) to uproot the Congress.
The Trinamool Congress has fielded 48 candidates, becoming the second largest party next to the Congress to field candidates while MSCP fielded 35 candidates in the recently held State Assembly election.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Kim Gangte, President, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress, said that the party has not decided on its post poll strategies as yet.
The state unit will discuss with national leaders and decide with whom the party will go forward with.
She also stated that there will be a meeting where all the candidates who contested the election on the party's ticket will also be participating.
Since the election results have not been declared as yet, it will be too early to announce the stand of the party regarding the post poll alliance.
The national leaders very well understand the situation of the state and the problems of the people.
So the party will take up a solid stand in the interest of the people.
Since the MSCP has never disclosed its stand on the question of post poll alliance, it is still not known as to with which party the MSCP will have alliance.
On the other hand, though the Communist Party of India is a coalition partner of SPF government, the party has committed itself to bring about a better new coalition form of government in the state.
The decision to this effect was taken at the State level executive meeting which will was held at its office at Irabot Bhawan, attended by all the candidates who have contested the election on the party's ticket.
The BJP has also made its stand clear that it will form a coalition government with other like minded parties and uproot the Congress rule from the state of Manipur.
The NPF, however has abstain itself from any sort of commitment regarding post poll alliance with any of the parties.
It is the only political party remaining isolated from all other parties in the state at the moment.
However, MPP, NCP, JD (U), CPI (M) and RJD have made a pre-poll alliance and formed the People’s Democratic Front (PDF).
The PDF fielded 44 candidates in the State Assembly election.
The Front has also made it clear that it will not go with the NPF under any circumstances and charged the NPF with being a party working in the interest of the Nagas only.
