Ahead of his scheduled meeting with Deputy Chairman of Union Planning Commission Montek Singh Alluwalia on January 21 to finalise the size of the State Plan for the fiscal period 2008-09, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh would be holding a discussion on the matter with other State officials here tomorrow.
According to an official source, after a joint meeting of the State officials to be led by the Chief Secretary and the Secretary of the Union Planning Secretary at noon of January 21, the size of the State Plan for the year 2008-09 would be decided in a meeting between Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission at 1.30 pm of the same day.
The size of the State Plan for the fiscal year 2008-09 being projected by the State Government is Rs 2029.61 crores.
This is inclusive of the amount of the Special Plan Assistance (SPA) expected to be received by the State Government from the Centre.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister reportedly met AICC president Sonia Gandhi to discuss issue related to lingering leadership crisis within the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) of the State at 11.30 am today.
However, efforts to contact the Chief Minister in this connection remained blank.
On the other hand, dissident MLAs who are currently camping at New Delhi in continuation of their oust Ibobi campaign have expressed confidence over the possibility of bringing about a change in the leadership before the upcoming State Assembly session.
